Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking a reliable and organized Driver / Merchandiser to support FMCG, food and beverage distribution operations. The role combines commercial driving and in-store merchandising, ensuring company products are properly displayed, stocked, priced and rotated across assigned retail outlets.
The successful candidate will monitor product expiry dates, maintain attractive shelf displays, prevent stock-outs and report damaged or near-expiry products to the relevant sales team. Strong time management and knowledge of retail merchandising practices are essential.
About This Role
The Driver / Merchandiser will visit multiple retail outlets, manage product displays and ensure stock is maintained according to company standards. The role also involves transporting and coordinating merchandisers between outlets based on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Display company products neatly and prominently on shelves and designated retail areas.
- Check product expiry dates and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation principles.
- Ensure large and accurate price boards and promotional displays are properly positioned.
- Monitor shelf stock levels and inform sales executives promptly to prevent out-of-stock situations.
- Report near-expiry, expired or damaged products to sales representatives and management.
- Record details of near-expiry products delivered to outlets and maintain accurate records.
- Organize and arrange outlet storage areas to ensure company products are properly stocked.
- Participate in scheduled expiry-date checks and stock audits at assigned outlets.
- Follow merchandising standards, planograms and instructions provided by supervisors.
- Transport merchandisers to assigned outlets within designated areas as required.
- Drop and collect merchandisers according to daily routes and operational schedules.
- Reassign merchandisers to nearby outlets when required after completing their initial display activities.
- Support evening outlet coverage and transport merchandisers to locations where overnight inventory handling is required.
- Maintain safe driving practices and ensure timely movement between outlets.
- Report operational, stock or customer-related issues to the appropriate sales or management team.
Minimum Requirements
Licensing
- Valid Commercial Driving License (CDL) or applicable Qatar commercial driving license.
- Clean driving record with a strong commitment to safe driving practices.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, FMCG distribution or a related field.
- Experience supporting sales teams and managing retail outlets is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of product display, stock rotation and retail merchandising.
