Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking an experienced GIS Surveyor / Land Surveyor to conduct accurate land surveys, collect spatial data and prepare detailed maps and technical reports. The successful candidate will use GIS, GPS and remote sensing technologies to support engineering, planning and surveying projects.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geomatics or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in GIS surveying or land surveying. Strong technical knowledge of GIS and CAD software is essential.
About This Role
The GIS Surveyor will be responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing and presenting geospatial information to support project planning and design. The role requires close collaboration with engineers, planners and other technical professionals to ensure survey data is accurate, reliable and effectively integrated into project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate land and GIS surveys using modern surveying and geospatial technologies.
- Collect, process and analyze spatial and geographic data for engineering and planning projects.
- Prepare detailed maps, survey drawings and technical reports based on survey findings.
- Use GPS, GIS and remote sensing technologies to improve data collection accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain accurate geospatial databases and survey records.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners and project teams to integrate GIS data into designs and project plans.
- Verify survey data and ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness of spatial information.
- Support the preparation of digital maps, layouts and other surveying deliverables.
- Interpret and analyze geographic data to support technical and project decision-making.
- Maintain organized records of survey data, coordinates, drawings and project documentation.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geomatics, Surveying or a related field is essential.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in GIS surveying, land surveying or a related field.
- Practical experience collecting and analyzing spatial data.
- Experience working with engineering, construction, planning or consultancy projects is an advantage.
Certifications
- GIS Professional (GISP) certification or equivalent is highly preferred.
