Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking an experienced HSE Engineer / HSE Officer to support health, safety and environmental requirements across construction and maintenance projects in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience, particularly within Kahramaa and Ashghal projects, and a strong understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments, monitor site compliance and implement practical safety controls to minimize workplace hazards and ensure safe project execution.
About This Role
This position requires a proactive HSE professional who can work closely with project and site teams to identify hazards, implement corrective measures and maintain compliance with applicable Qatar and international HSE standards.
Previous Kahramaa approval is strongly preferred. Candidates who were previously Kahramaa-approved should be prepared to undertake the required approval test again.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive HSE risk assessments and identify potential workplace hazards.
- Recommend and implement practical risk control and mitigation measures.
- Monitor construction and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with approved HSE procedures.
- Ensure adherence to applicable health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and identify unsafe conditions, practices and environmental risks.
- Coordinate with project teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support compliance with Kahramaa, Ashghal and project-specific HSE requirements.
- Maintain HSE records, inspection reports and relevant safety documentation.
- Promote safety awareness and good HSE practices among site personnel.
- Support the implementation of local and international safety standards across project activities.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline is preferred.
Certifications
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification is highly preferred.
- Previous Kahramaa approval is strongly preferred.
- Previously Kahramaa-approved candidates will be required to appear for the approval test again.
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience.
- Proven experience in construction and maintenance projects.
- Experience working on Kahramaa and Ashghal projects is required/preferred.
- Good knowledge of Qatar construction HSE requirements and applicable international standards.
