Job Description/Specification:


We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee technical and site coordination activities for a construction project in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years of professional experience in Qatar, and must hold a valid UPDA certification at any grade.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading site and drafting teams, coordinating with consultants, reviewing design documentation and developing shop drawings. Experience in equine facilities will be considered an advantage.

About This Role

This position requires a technically strong and hands-on professional who can manage site-based technical activities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with consultants and project stakeholders. The candidate should be capable of reviewing design drawings, identifying technical requirements and ensuring shop drawings are developed accurately and in line with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate site engineering and technical teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Supervise and coordinate the draftsman team and manage technical drawing requirements.
  • Attend and lead technical meetings with consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Review and assess design drawings for technical accuracy, constructability and compliance.
  • Develop, review and coordinate shop drawings and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate technical issues and provide practical solutions to site teams.
  • Monitor technical deliverables and ensure drawings and documentation are completed within project requirements.
  • Coordinate with consultants to resolve design clarifications and technical issues.
  • Support site teams with technical guidance throughout project execution.
  • Ensure technical activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Relevant Engineering or technical qualification preferred.
  • Valid UPDA certification – any grade is mandatory.
  • Candidates without the required professional experience will not be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in Qatar.
  • Proven experience managing site teams and draftsman teams.
  • Strong experience dealing directly with consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to review design drawings and develop shop drawings.
  • Experience in equine facilities is an added advantage.
