Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking an experienced BMU Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Building Maintenance Units (BMUs), suspended access equipment, and façade maintenance systems in Qatar. The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with approved procedures, manufacturer recommendations, work-at-height requirements, and Qatar safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
BMU Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of BMUs, cradles, hoists, davits, monorails, and suspended access equipment.
- Conduct scheduled daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-system faults.
- Carry out lubrication, adjustments, component replacement, calibration, and functional testing.
- Attend equipment breakdowns and restore systems safely and efficiently.
Inspection & Safety Systems
- Inspect wire ropes, sheaves, drums, brakes, motors, gearboxes, limit switches, load cells, and other safety components.
- Test emergency-stop, overload, anti-tilt, limit-switch, and emergency-lowering systems.
- Identify equipment defects and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist with load testing, commissioning, and third-party inspections.
- Support emergency rescue and recovery activities when required.
Technical Documentation
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Maintain service reports, inspection checklists, fault reports, and maintenance records.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to approved schedules and procedures.
- Report recurring faults and recommend corrective maintenance solutions.
Compliance & Coordination
- Follow approved method statements, risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and work-at-height requirements.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations, company procedures, and applicable Qatar safety regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance teams.
- Support emergency breakdowns and work outside normal hours when operationally required.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Diploma or ITI qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in BMU or suspended access equipment maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with BMU electrical controls, motors, brakes, hoists, hydraulic power packs, and safety systems.
- Practical experience in BMU troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
- Experience inspecting wire ropes and safety devices.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous BMU maintenance experience in Qatar or the GCC.
- Experience working with recognized BMU manufacturers and façade access systems.
- Familiarity with local safety requirements and maintenance practices.

Additional Requirements
