Job Description/Specification:
A healthcare provider in Qatar is seeking a qualified and patient-focused Physician / Doctor to provide both in-person and telemedicine consultations. The role involves assessing patients, diagnosing medical conditions, developing treatment plans, prescribing appropriate medications, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
The successful candidate should be comfortable delivering care through both home visits and digital healthcare platforms, with strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care and documentation.
About This Role
The physician will provide comprehensive medical consultations through home visits and telemedicine services. The role requires reviewing medical histories, conducting clinical assessments, ordering diagnostic investigations, developing treatment plans, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records.
The position is suited to a technologically comfortable medical professional who can communicate effectively with patients and families and adapt to flexible working requirements, including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Assessment
- Conduct in-person home visits as required.
- Provide professional telemedicine consultations.
- Review patient medical histories, records, symptoms, and relevant clinical information.
- Assess patients and provide appropriate diagnoses.
- Develop personalised treatment and care plans.
- Order laboratory and diagnostic tests when clinically required.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable clinical guidelines.
- Monitor patient progress and recommend appropriate follow-up care.
Patient Communication
- Communicate medical information clearly and professionally with patients and their families.
- Explain diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and follow-up requirements.
- Address patient concerns and provide appropriate guidance.
- Maintain a compassionate and patient-centred approach to healthcare delivery.
Clinical Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient records.
- Document consultations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and follow-up recommendations.
- Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems effectively.
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, allied healthcare professionals, and other members of the care team.
- Support coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Licensing
- Medical degree from a recognised medical institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in Qatar.
- Candidates must meet applicable Qatar healthcare licensing and professional requirements.
Experience & Skills
- Relevant clinical experience in patient assessment and treatment.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently during home visits and telemedicine consultations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Strong patient-service and interpersonal skills.
Language Requirements
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Arabic language proficiency is preferred, particularly for patient and family communication.
