Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Platinion is seeking a Principal IT/Digital – Energy for opportunities based in Doha, Qatar or Saudi Arabia. The role is designed for a senior technology and digital-transformation leader with strong consulting experience and a proven track record of delivering complex IT transformation programmes within the energy sector.
The successful candidate will work directly with senior client leadership to define technology strategies, develop digital platforms and architectures, and lead large-scale transformation initiatives. The position combines strategic advisory, technology delivery, client leadership, and team management.
About This Role
As a Principal IT/Digital in the Energy Practice, you will translate complex business challenges into practical technology and digital solutions that create sustainable business value. You will lead consulting teams, manage project execution and quality, advise senior stakeholders, and guide clients through major changes across their IT, digital, data, and technology landscapes.
The role also offers a path toward Director-level leadership, with opportunities to contribute to BCG Platinion's growth and strengthen its position as a leader in AI and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
IT & Digital Strategy
- Work with senior client leaders to understand business and technology challenges.
- Develop and implement IT and digital strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
- Design technology concepts, digital platforms, and architecture solutions.
- Evaluate IT, digital, data, and operating-model landscapes and identify transformation opportunities.
- Translate technology strategy into practical implementation roadmaps.
Digital Transformation Delivery
- Lead complex IT and digital transformation programmes from strategy through execution.
- Manage operational delivery, quality, risk, timelines, and client expectations.
- Guide clients through technology modernisation and major system transformation.
- Support the adoption of cloud, data, AI, and modern digital architectures.
- Ensure solutions deliver measurable and sustainable business value.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with senior executives and technology leadership.
- Communicate complex technology topics clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
- Manage client expectations, escalations, risks, and critical project decisions.
- Act as a trusted technology advisor beyond the immediate project scope.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead diverse consulting and technical teams across complex engagements.

Practice Development

Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Excellent academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- 8–12+ years of experience in IT consulting, technology consulting, or digital transformation.
- Proven experience delivering complex IT transformation programmes.
- Strong experience within the Energy sector, including Oil & Gas, petrochemicals, utilities, or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience working with senior executives and leading complex client engagements.
