Oryx Veterinary Center in Doha, Qatar is seeking a skilled and experienced Falcon Imping Specialist / Falcon Handler to join its specialized veterinary team. About This Role
The Falcon Imping Specialist / Falcon Handler will be responsible for performing feather repair procedures, safely handling falcons during examinations and treatments, monitoring feather condition, and supporting daily care and rehabilitation programs.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate practical experience with falcons, strong technical precision, patience, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform falcon imping and flight-feather repair procedures for damaged feathers.
- Safely handle, restrain, and manage falcons during examinations and veterinary procedures.
- Assess and monitor feather condition and report concerns to the veterinary team.
- Support falcon rehabilitation and recovery programs.
- Assist with daily falcon care, husbandry, and monitoring when required.
- Maintain high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and biosecurity.
- Follow appropriate handling and safety procedures during all falcon-related activities.
- Work closely with veterinarians and other team members to support treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Maintain attention to detail and precision during feather repair and handling procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Proven practical experience in falcon imping and feather repair techniques.
- Previous experience handling falcons safely and professionally.
- Experience working with falcons in a veterinary, rehabilitation, falconry, or specialized avian-care environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of falcon welfare and basic avian care.
