Job Description/Specification:
Al Najada Doha Hotel by Tivoli is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to support the daily operations of its Laundry Department. The role involves handling guest linens, uniforms, clothing, and other laundry items while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, quality, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will work across production and dry-cleaning areas, ensuring laundry is correctly sorted, treated, washed, dried, and prepared for use. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining hotel service standards are essential for this role.
About This Role
As a Laundry Attendant, you will contribute directly to the smooth operation of the hotel's housekeeping and laundry services. You will collect and sort soiled linen and clothing, identify appropriate washing requirements, perform stain treatment, and operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
The role is suitable for a recent graduate or candidate with practical training in Housekeeping or Laundry who is looking to build a career in the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
Laundry Operations
- Collect soiled linens, uniforms, guest clothing, and other laundry items from designated areas.
- Sort laundry according to color, fabric type, level of soiling, and treatment requirements.
- Apply appropriate stain-removal and pre-treatment techniques.
- Operate washing, drying, pressing, and other laundry equipment according to established procedures.
- Ensure laundry items are processed correctly and efficiently.
- Support production and dry-cleaning operations as required.
Quality & Hygiene
- Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or quality issues before and after processing.
- Ensure linens and clothing meet required cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Handle laundry carefully to minimize damage, shrinkage, discoloration, or loss.
- Follow hotel hygiene, safety, and laundry operating procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe laundry work areas.
Teamwork & Guest Service
- Work closely with Housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure timely availability of clean linen and uniforms.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding laundry requirements and operational issues.
- Contribute to maintaining high housekeeping and guest-service standards.
- Report damaged equipment, linen issues, or other operational concerns to supervisors.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Training
- Recent graduate or candidate with at least 3 months of practical training in Housekeeping or Laundry.
- Hospitality or vocational training is an advantage.
Experience
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is preferred but not mandatory for suitable trainees or graduates.
- Practical exposure to hotel laundry operations is an advantage.
