Job Description/Specification:
Qatar Airways is seeking a Replenishment Assistant to support retail operations at Qatar Duty Free (QDFC) stores in Doha. The role is responsible for receiving and replenishing merchandise, organizing stock across store locations, maintaining fully stocked shelves, and ensuring efficient stock rotation based on demand and sales activity.
The successful candidate will support day-to-day retail operations while maintaining high standards of stock handling, housekeeping, visual merchandising, customer service, and workplace safety. This is a physically active role requiring the ability to move heavy goods and stock carts within the facility.
About This Role
As a Replenishment Assistant, you will receive merchandise from warehouses and sub-stores and organize products across retail locations based on sell-out and inventory requirements. You will help prevent stock-outs, maximize available shelf space, maintain proper product rotation, and ensure merchandise is handled safely and efficiently.
You may also assist customers and other retail sections during busy periods while ensuring Qatar Duty Free's operational, visual merchandising, housekeeping, and health and safety standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Replenishment & Retail Operations
- Receive and replenish merchandise from warehouses and sub-stores.
- Stock products on QDFC retail racks to maximize available shelf space.
- Monitor shelf availability and replenish products based on demand and sales activity.
- Arrange merchandise across store locations to minimize stock-out situations.
- Pick and stack products according to expiry dates using FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation principles.
- Handle merchandise carefully to prevent damage or loss.
Visual Merchandising & Store Standards
- Maintain properly stocked, organized, and visually appealing shelves.
- Follow established visual merchandising standards across retail stores.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of operational areas and equipment.
- Ensure merchandise and retail displays are presented according to company standards.
Customer Service & Team Support
- Provide courteous and professional customer service when required.
- Assist other sections of the store during busy periods or operational requirements.
- Support colleagues and contribute to efficient day-to-day retail operations.
- Respond positively and respectfully to customers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Qatar Duty Free and Hamad International Airport (HIA) health and safety procedures.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards, or safety breaches immediately.
- Report operational issues and incidents to the Merchandising Officer promptly.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Communication
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to understand and follow operational and safety instructions.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Entry-level candidates with suitable skills and willingness to learn may be considered where applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, and maneuver goods weighing up to 165 lbs (approximately 75 kg).
- Ability to pull heavy stock carts through the facility.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive stocking, picking, and replenishment activities.
