Job Description/Specification:
Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Manager – Catering Inventory & Logistics to join its Product Development & Design team in Doha, Qatar. The role will lead the strategy, planning, forecasting, warehousing, and distribution of catering equipment, bonded items, beverages, and dry-store inventory across the Qatar Airways network.
About This Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing global inventory levels, logistics networks, replenishment strategies, and warehouse operations while balancing operational requirements, supply risks, and cost efficiency. The role also involves leading a team and working closely with multiple departments and suppliers in a global, multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement catering equipment, bond, and beverage supply, inventory, and distribution strategies across the Qatar Airways network.
- Manage inventory covering 800+ catering equipment items, ensuring availability for operational requirements.
- Analyze supply risks, costs, stock levels, and operational requirements to support effective trade-off decisions.
- Develop cost-efficient logistics strategies that minimize unnecessary movement of equipment and support fuel and operational efficiency.
- Establish and manage warehousing strategies, including oversight of outsourced warehouse operations.
- Ensure appropriate stock levels, replenishment processes, storage, and distribution across the network.
- Develop business cases and support the transition toward an efficient in-house warehouse solution where appropriate.
- Build strong relationships across Qatar Airways to align supply decisions and resolve time-critical operational requirements.
- Plan the introduction of new stock items and manage the withdrawal and disposal of obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate with Product Development & Design and Catering Services on new product specifications, trials, and evaluations.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members while promoting accountability and effective teamwork.
- Monitor inventory performance and identify opportunities to reduce stock holdings, logistics costs, and operational inefficiencies.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, equipment management, inventory, or supplier management within a global environment.
- Experience in forecasting, reporting, planning, and program/project management.
- Strong understanding of inventory planning, stock control, warehousing, and logistics operations.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; experience with statistical analysis is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, and stock control systems is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Experience working with multicultural and cross-functional teams.
- Proven managerial skills with the ability to coach, mentor, train, and develop teams.
