Lead Mobile Crane Technician

NBK is seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Crane Technician to perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on mobile cranes and heavy equipment. The role requires strong expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and transmission systems, with a focus on equipment reliability, safety, and minimizing downtime across the crane fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on mobile cranes and associated heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, and related equipment faults using specialized diagnostic tools.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety requirements.
• Repair, replace, and correctly install faulty components, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
• Conduct post-repair testing and performance checks to verify equipment reliability and safe operation.
• Interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment documentation for accurate troubleshooting.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, work orders, and equipment history using relevant maintenance systems.
• Coordinate with Procurement to identify required spare parts, tools, and materials.
• Support the Maintenance Manager in developing maintenance schedules and improving fleet reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior technicians.
• Recommend equipment upgrades, component replacements, and maintenance improvements based on performance and cost considerations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve maintenance efficiency.
• Stay updated on new technologies, diagnostic methods, and best practices in mobile crane and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strictly follow company HSE policies, equipment safety procedures, and applicable Qatar/GCC requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Vocational, Technical, Tertiary, or Trade qualification in Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mobile crane or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong practical knowledge of mobile cranes, hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform complex mechanical and hydraulic repairs and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Experience with work order management and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Basic proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience in Qatar/GCC is preferred.
• Good command of English.
