Who Should Apply?

This position is aimed at candidates in the early stages of their HR or hospitality careers. A graduate with relevant education and some administrative experience could be a strong fit, particularly if they are interested in developing a long-term career in hotel human resources.

The right candidate should be approachable, discreet, organized, and comfortable communicating with colleagues at different levels of the organization. A genuine interest in employee experience and workplace culture will also be valuable.

Skills That Will Help You Succeed

Strong administration is at the centre of this role. Attention to detail, document management, communication, confidentiality, time management, and follow-through are important every day.

Candidates should also be comfortable using standard office software and learning internal HR systems and procedures. Emotional intelligence is particularly useful when dealing with colleague requests or sensitive workplace matters.

How to Stand Out

Your CV should make your administrative and people-related experience easy to identify. Highlight internships, HR projects, hotel placements, administrative positions, or university work involving employee coordination or documentation.

If you have handled confidential records, supported training activities, coordinated meetings, maintained databases, or assisted with employee-related processes, include those examples rather than simply listing “HR skills.”

Interview Preparation

Be prepared to explain why you want to build a career in People & Culture and why luxury hospitality interests you.

You may be asked how you would handle confidential information, respond to a colleague who needs assistance, organize multiple administrative requests, or deal with a situation where company procedures need to be explained clearly.

Use practical examples from previous work, internships, university projects, or hospitality experience to demonstrate reliability, discretion, teamwork, and communication.

Career Growth

A People & Culture Trainee can build experience toward roles such as People & Culture Coordinator, HR Coordinator, Learning & Development Coordinator, Employee Relations Coordinator, or HR Executive. With additional experience and leadership development, this can lead toward broader hotel HR management positions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this suitable for fresh graduates?

What educational background is suitable?

Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Management, Human Resources, or a closely related qualification is appropriate.

What are the most important skills?

Confidentiality, communication, organization, attention to detail, professionalism, and willingness to learn are particularly important.
