Job Description/Specification:
The successful candidate will provide Level 2 technical support for telecom transmission infrastructure, analyze network alarms, troubleshoot complex faults, perform root cause analysis, and support major incidents and network migrations. Strong hands-on experience with SDH, DWDM, OTN, Microwave, and fiber transport technologies is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 support for telecom transmission networks and infrastructure.
- Monitor and analyze alarms using EMS/NMS platforms.
- Perform advanced fault isolation, troubleshooting, and remote diagnostics.
- Handle incident restoration and ensure compliance with agreed SLAs.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring and complex network issues.
- Analyze transmission paths, ring failures, protection mechanisms, and cross-connect dependencies.
- Support link migrations, software upgrades, network changes, and major incidents.
- Troubleshoot optical signal degradation and transmission connectivity issues.
- Participate in technical bridge calls and coordinate with relevant teams during major incidents.
- Support Ethernet Backhaul, MPLS Transport, and other transmission technologies.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident records.
Minimum Requirements
- 3–7 years of experience as a Transmission Engineer in telecom networks.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in:
- Electronics & Communication
- Telecommunications
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
- IT with Telecom specialization/exposure
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- SDH
- DWDM
- OTN
- Microwave
- Fiber Transport Networks
- Experience with EMS/NMS tools, alarm monitoring, and fault analysis.
- Strong expertise in fault isolation, path switching, network restoration, and RCA.
- Knowledge of Ethernet Backhaul, MPLS Transport, and network topology.
- Experience handling major incidents and SLA-based restoration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
