Job Description/Specification:
Baker Hughes is seeking a Wireline Field Specialist – General to provide technical support and guidance at wellsites while delivering safe, reliable, and efficient wireline and completion services. The role involves working with oilfield equipment, supporting customers, troubleshooting field challenges, and ensuring wellsite activities are completed according to operational and safety requirements.
This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced oilfield technologies while supporting completions logging, completion services, equipment maintenance, and wellsite operations in challenging environments.
About This Role
As a General Wireline Field Specialist, you will work with customers and field teams to execute wireline activities safely and effectively. You will operate with limited supervision, evaluate completed work against operational objectives, and support equipment preparation, maintenance, and deployment at workshops and wellsites.
Key Responsibilities
Wireline & Wellsite Operations
- Execute wireline and completion activities according to approved instructions, procedures, and wellsite requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers and field teams during wellsite operations.
- Support open-hole and cased-hole wireline activities.
- Assist with completion logging and completion services at workshops and wellsites.
- Evaluate completed work to confirm operational objectives and customer requirements have been achieved.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Assist with preparation, operation, and actuation of completion equipment.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting as required.
- Follow equipment, logistics, and operational manuals during field activities.
- Ensure equipment is handled, operated, and maintained safely and correctly.
HSE & Compliance
- Execute all wellsite responsibilities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Identify and address potential safety risks during field activities.
- Promote a strong safety culture and demonstrate Baker Hughes core values in all operations.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Wireline Services.
- Experience working with Baker Hughes is preferred.
- Experience in offshore operations is preferred.
- Rigless operations experience is an advantage.
- Practical experience with Open Hole and Cased Hole wireline operations.
- Relevant industry knowledge and product line training.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong knowledge of wireline and completion operations.
- Understanding of wellsite procedures, oilfield equipment, and completion technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational and equipment-related issues.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to HSE and operational excellence.
- Ability to work effectively in challenging field environments.
