Job Description/Specification:
A leading luxury hospitality organization in Doha is seeking an experienced Assistant Reservations Manager to oversee daily reservations operations while supporting the strategic objectives of the Revenue Management function. The role combines reservations leadership with hands-on execution of pricing, inventory, yield, and distribution strategies.
The successful candidate will supervise reservations agents, manage booking flows and room inventory, implement revenue decisions, monitor distribution channels, and provide accurate operational reporting to support occupancy and revenue optimization.
About This Role
As Assistant Reservations Manager, you will act as the operational lead for the Reservations Department and the primary operational extension of the Director of Revenue Management. You will ensure reservations are processed accurately, inventory is optimized, rate strategies are implemented effectively, and booking channels remain aligned across PMS, CRS, channel managers, and OTAs.
Key Responsibilities
Reservations Operations & Team Leadership
- Manage daily reservations workflows, shift handovers, and agent schedules.
- Supervise, coach, and train reservations agents on booking procedures, telephone etiquette, and upselling techniques.
- Handle escalated guest enquiries, complex reservations, VIP bookings, and group rooming lists.
- Maintain high standards of reservation accuracy and data quality.
- Monitor team performance and ensure departmental service standards are consistently maintained.
Revenue Strategy Execution
- Work closely with the Director of Revenue Management to implement daily rate and yield strategies.
- Apply stay controls such as Minimum Length of Stay (MinLOS), Closed to Arrival (CTA), and Closed to Departure (CTD) across relevant systems.
- Monitor room inventory, availability, and overbooking levels to maximize occupancy and minimize revenue loss.
- Conduct regular rate parity checks across OTAs and metasearch channels.
- Identify and resolve rate discrepancies promptly.
- Manage group room blocks, cut-off dates, deposits, and billing information in coordination with Sales and Revenue Management.
Distribution & System Management
- Ensure accurate connectivity between the PMS, CRS, Channel Manager, OTAs, and other distribution platforms.
- Audit reservations for correct market segmentation, source/origin codes, rate codes, and travel agency commission structures.
- Support the implementation of new promotions, packages, and rate plans across distribution channels.
- Identify system or connectivity issues and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
Reporting & Revenue Communication
- Prepare daily pickup, booking pace, cancellation, denial, and call conversion reports.
- Monitor booking trends, lead times, demand patterns, and market performance.
- Participate in weekly revenue strategy meetings.
- Provide operational insights and recommendations to the Director of Revenue Management.
- Maintain accurate revenue and reservations data for forecasting and decision-making.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel reservations or front-office operations.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or senior reservations position.
- Demonstrated experience in room inventory management, reservations operations, and revenue strategy execution.
Technical Skills
- PMS: Opera PMS, Cloudbeds, Mews, or similar.
- CRS & Channel Managers: SiteMinder, RateGain, or equivalent platforms.
- OTA Platforms: Booking.com Partner Hub, Expedia Partner Central, and similar extranets.
- GDS: Understanding of hotel GDS processes and distribution.
- Revenue Management: Rate plans, yield strategies, inventory controls, rate parity, and overbooking management.
- Reporting: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
