Job Description/Specification:
KBR is seeking an experienced Large Area Maintenance Shelter (LAMS) Specialist to support the AFCAP V (Air Force Contract Augmentation Program V) in Qatar and other locations across the Middle East. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and dismantling of large maintenance shelters used to support U.S. Air Force operations in contingency environments.
The position is ideal for experienced maintenance professionals with leadership experience, technical expertise in shelter systems, and the ability to work in challenging operational environments.

About This Role
As a Large Area Maintenance Shelter Specialist, you will lead the setup, operation, maintenance, inspection, and dismantling of large maintenance shelters (LAMS/BEAR structures). You will supervise personnel, coordinate equipment and materials, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and support mission readiness in contingency operations.
Key Responsibilities
Shelter Installation & Maintenance
- Install, erect, operate, maintain, repair, and dismantle Large Area Maintenance Shelters (LAMS/BEAR).
- Perform inspections to ensure shelters remain operational and safe.
- Read and interpret manufacturer operation and maintenance manuals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve shelter-related technical issues.
- Dispose of structures and components following approved procedures.
Equipment & Asset Management
- Maintain tools, equipment, and shelter systems.
- Monitor inventory of equipment, spare parts, and materials.
- Conduct asset inventories and maintain accountability records.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and storage activities.
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise maintenance personnel.
- Schedule manpower, equipment, and materials for shelter operations.
- Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely project completion.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job support.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all company, military, and government safety regulations.
- Enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct work in accordance with operational and environmental safety standards.
- Identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain maintenance logs and inspection records.
- Prepare reports on shelter status, repairs, and operational readiness.
- Document incidents and corrective actions.
- Review completed maintenance records for accuracy.
Operational Support
- Support contingency and wartime operations.
- Operate in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Travel to additional Middle East locations as required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of related maintenance experience.
- 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing large maintenance shelters or similar structures.

Required Certifications & Eligibility
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- U.S. Passport with:
- Minimum 13 months validity.
- At least 6 blank visa pages.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship (required).

- Certification or advanced training in maintenance and repair of large maintenance shelters or similar structures.
- Military experience in contingency operations.
