Job Description/Specification:
IKEA Qatar, part of the Al-Futtaim Group, is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Visual Merchandiser to bring the IKEA brand to life through inspiring store displays and functional home furnishing solutions. You will ensure that all visual merchandising activities align with IKEA standards while enhancing the customer shopping experience and supporting commercial objectives.

About This Role
As a Visual Merchandiser, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining high-quality visual displays throughout the store. Working closely with Interior Designers, Sales, and In-Store Logistics teams, you will execute seasonal campaigns, create inspirational room settings, and ensure the IKEA concept is consistently represented across every customer touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Merchandising
- Plan and execute visual displays for accessory shops, shop windows, activity podiums, self-serve areas, Swedish Food Market, Exit Café, and other store sections.
- Ensure all displays comply with IKEA visual merchandising standards and brand guidelines.
- Create inspiring and functional home furnishing solutions that enhance the customer experience.
- Maintain consistency in visual presentation throughout the store.
Store Design & Presentation
- Collaborate with the Interior Designer to develop attractive room settings and display concepts.
- Implement display solutions that support current promotions and commercial activities.
- Ensure store layouts remain visually appealing, practical, and customer-friendly.
- Maintain excellent presentation standards across all departments.
Commercial Support
- Support the planning and execution of the store commercial calendar.
- Assist with seasonal campaigns, promotional activities, and new product launches.
- Coordinate merchandising updates based on sales priorities and commercial objectives.
- Implement daily sales steering initiatives using IKEA merchandising methods.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales and In-Store Logistics teams to deliver merchandising projects efficiently.
- Coordinate display installations with minimal disruption to store operations.
- Support store teams in maintaining visual standards and merchandising consistency.
Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure all visual merchandising solutions are safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible.
- Follow IKEA operational manuals, company procedures, and local regulations.
- Stay updated on local home furnishing trends and customer preferences.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in:
- Retail Visual Merchandising
- Interior Design
- Home Furnishing Retail
- Store Display Planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with furniture or home décor retailers.
- Knowledge of IKEA visual merchandising principles and retail concepts.
- Experience executing commercial campaigns within large-format retail stores.
- Understanding of customer shopping behavior and visual presentation strategies.
