Job Description/Specification:
Al-Futtaim Automotive is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services while delivering high-quality workmanship and maximizing workshop productivity. The successful candidate will ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time, contributing to customer satisfaction, workshop efficiency, and revenue growth.

About This Role
As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing customer vehicles according to manufacturer standards and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Working closely with the Service Supervisor, you will ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently, safely, and with minimal repeat work while maintaining high productivity and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspection & Repair
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repair work according to repair orders.
- Diagnose vehicle faults accurately using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
- Ensure vehicles are repaired correctly on the first attempt to minimize repeat repairs.
- Conduct final vehicle inspections before delivery to customers.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
- Perform systematic fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Interpret workshop manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Identify additional repair requirements and prepare cost estimates.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the Service Supervisor when necessary.
Workshop Operations
- Maintain accurate check sheets, repair records, and logbooks.
- Record labor hours through timely punch-in and punch-out procedures.
- Participate in workshop meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support workshop productivity and efficiency targets.
Tools & Equipment Management
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Properly use and care for specialized diagnostic and repair tools.
- Keep individual work bays clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
- Ensure proper housekeeping throughout the workshop.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all workshop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure fire extinguishers are available when working on fuel systems.
- Report safety incidents and workplace hazards immediately.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Training & Development
- Participate in technical training and e-learning programs.
- Complete internal technical certification programs.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- ITI or Diploma in Automobile Engineering.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician in an authorized dealership.
- Valid driving experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with global automotive brands.
- Internal technical certifications:
- Bronze Certification (Technician)
- Silver Certification (Senior Technician)
- Gold Certification (Master Technician)
- Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic systems.
