Job Description/Specification:

Qatar Airways is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst in Doha to support data-driven decision-making across business and commercial functions. The role focuses on business intelligence, consumer behavior analysis, KPI monitoring, sales reporting, Power BI dashboards, inventory performance, and business performance evaluation.

This opportunity is suited to professionals with experience in business intelligence, management information systems, data analytics, reporting, or performance analysis who can transform business data into clear insights and practical recommendations.

Business Intelligence Analyst Job Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst will conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis covering areas such as retail, stores, vendor profitability, inventory, warehouses, sales, promotions, and customer behavior.

A key responsibility will be developing and analyzing Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. The analyst will assess KPIs against budgets, historical trends, passenger traffic, inventory performance, and other relevant business indicators.

The position will also support the transition from AX Dynamic (R3 Reporting) to the organization's new business intelligence reporting structure. This includes assisting with report restructuring, data mapping, generation, maintenance, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Analyst will:

  • Develop, generate, and analyze Power BI reports and business performance dashboards.
  • Monitor KPIs against budgets, historical results, passenger traffic, inventory performance, and other relevant indicators.
  • Provide management with clear findings and insights to support business decisions.
  • Work with category managers, operational managers, marketing teams, and other business users to understand reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to modify or improve existing reports based on business needs.
  • Coordinate with IT teams on BI reporting development and ensure alignment with the organization's reporting structure.
  • Conduct gap analysis and root-cause analysis to identify factors affecting sales trends and performance fluctuations.
  • Analyze consumer behavior, customer profiles, store performance, brand performance, market trends, and segment profitability.
  • Evaluate mystery shopper and market survey information to identify customer needs and potential growth opportunities.
  • Assess marketing and promotional activities by comparing sales results with targets and relevant KPIs.
  • Identify important trends and recommend actions to improve business performance.
  • Troubleshoot Power BI reporting problems in coordination with technical teams.
  • Support the accuracy and maintenance of central databases and business information sources.
  • Provide historical performance data and analysis to support business planning, forecasting, and strategy development.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification and have at least three years of relevant job-related experience.

Experience in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Information Systems (BIS), business intelligence, reporting, or data analytics is relevant to this position.

Candidates should also have familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft reporting solutions.

Skills Needed for the Role

Strong critical and analytical thinking skills are important because the position involves identifying patterns, investigating performance fluctuations, and determining the factors influencing business results.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with KPIs and business performance data and be able to convert analytical findings into practical recommendations for management.

Strong English communication and presentation skills are also required. The analyst will work with business stakeholders across different functions, making the ability to explain data and reporting requirements clearly particularly important.

Experience with dashboard development, sales analysis, forecasting, consumer analytics, promotional performance, or inventory reporting can further strengthen a candidate's suitability.

Why Business Intelligence Matters

Business intelligence allows organizations to move beyond basic reporting and use data to understand what is happening across their operations. For a large organization, analyzing sales, customer behavior, inventory, marketing performance, and operational KPIs can help management identify risks and opportunities more quickly.

This role combines technical reporting with commercial analysis, giving the successful candidate exposure to multiple areas of business performance and decision-making.
