Job Description/Specification:
Compass International School Doha, part of Nord Anglia Education, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to support teachers and students in delivering an outstanding British international education. This role focuses on providing one-to-one and small-group learning support, helping students achieve their academic potential while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

About This Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support individual students and small groups across the curriculum. You will help create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment while encouraging students' academic, social, and personal development.
Your responsibilities include assisting with lesson delivery, supporting classroom management, monitoring student progress, preparing learning resources, and helping students overcome learning challenges to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Student Learning Support
- Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support.
- Assist students in achieving high academic standards.
- Support students across various curriculum subjects.
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and learning skills.
- Identify and respond appropriately to individual learning needs.
Classroom Support
- Assist teachers in maximizing teaching and learning time.
- Help create a positive, purposeful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support lesson delivery and classroom activities.
- Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials.
- Maintain high standards of student behavior and discipline.
Academic Assistance
- Help students read textbooks, worksheets, and learning resources.
- Explain learning tasks and classroom instructions clearly.
- Assist students with completing assignments and classroom activities.
- Support students in setting out and organizing their work.
- Encourage active participation during lessons.
Student Assessment
- Assist teachers in monitoring student progress.
- Support assessment activities and classroom observations.
- Help identify individual strengths and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to setting challenging but achievable learning targets.
Learning Environment
- Create a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Encourage positive behaviour and student engagement.
- Promote inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
- Foster positive relationships with students and staff.
Educational Technology
- Support the use of computers and educational technology.
- Assist students in using digital learning resources.
- Help integrate technology into classroom learning activities.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents when required.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and learning support teams.
- Manage time effectively while supporting classroom activities.
- Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar educational role.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to support students individually and in small groups.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a British or international curriculum school.
- Family or husband sponsorship in Qatar is preferred.
- Experience supporting students with different learning needs.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
