Parsons is seeking an experienced Design Coordination Lead to join its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team in Qatar. This role will lead multidisciplinary design coordination for a landmark luxury hospitality and entertainment destination featuring immersive attractions, world-class hotels, premium retail, and leisure facilities. The successful candidate will ensure seamless integration across all design disciplines while supporting project delivery from concept through construction, commissioning, and handover.

About This Role

As the Design Coordination Lead, you will oversee the coordination of architects, engineers, specialist consultants, themed entertainment designers, ride vendors, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. You will ensure that all design packages are fully coordinated, technically compliant, constructible, and aligned with the client's vision, project objectives, schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design Coordination & Integration

  • Lead multidisciplinary design coordination throughout design, construction, commissioning, and project handover.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, MEP, landscape, utilities, themed entertainment, ride systems, show systems, and specialist design disciplines.
  • Ensure seamless integration of all design packages across project stakeholders.
  • Manage design interfaces between consultants, contractors, vendors, and operators.

Stakeholder & Consultant Management

  • Coordinate activities of the Lead Architect, Lead Design Consultant, Architect of Record (AOR), specialist consultants, Design & Build Contractor, attraction vendors, and operators.
  • Organize and facilitate design coordination workshops, technical reviews, interface meetings, and design resolution sessions.
  • Collaborate with utility providers, statutory authorities, and third-party stakeholders throughout the project.

Technical Review & Quality Assurance

  • Review multidisciplinary design submissions for coordination, constructability, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate the resolution of RFIs, technical queries, shop drawing interfaces, and design clarifications.
  • Monitor design deliverables to ensure compliance with project standards, client requirements, and approved schedules.
  • Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining design intent and operational functionality.

BIM & Digital Coordination

  • Work closely with the BIM Manager to coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models.
  • Support clash detection, model integration, and digital coordination processes.
  • Maintain interface registers, action trackers, design coordination logs, and technical documentation within the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).

Project Delivery Support

  • Monitor design changes and evaluate impacts on cost, schedule, procurement, construction sequencing, and operational readiness.
  • Support construction teams by resolving technical issues and coordinating timely design responses.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition from design through construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional registration or certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in design coordination, design management, or multidisciplinary technical coordination.
  • Proven experience on large hospitality, mixed-use, entertainment, or destination development projects.
  • Experience coordinating Design & Build projects involving multiple consultants and specialist disciplines.
  • Strong experience working with BIM-enabled design coordination processes.
  • GCC project experience is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with GCC building regulations, authority approvals, and infrastructure standards.
