Job Description/Specification:
Qatar Airways Cargo is seeking an experienced Lead Cargo Operations Procedure Officer to support the development, review, and continuous improvement of cargo operational policies and procedures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, operational consistency, and process excellence across the airline's global cargo network.

About This Role
As the Lead Cargo Operations Procedure Officer, you will develop, review, and maintain cargo operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workflow documentation. Working closely with Cargo Operations, Ground Services, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with IATA regulations while supporting continuous process improvements across Qatar Airways Cargo's global operations.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Procedure Management
- Develop, review, and update cargo operational policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Document business workflows, operational guidelines, and process revisions.
- Ensure operational documentation remains accurate, current, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate policy updates and communicate procedural changes across the cargo network.
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor local, international, and country-specific cargo regulations.
- Ensure cargo operations comply with applicable aviation regulations and company standards.
- Support regulatory audits and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of changes to IATA cargo regulations and recommend procedural updates accordingly.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with Cargo Operations, Ground Services, and internal stakeholders to improve operational processes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, consistency, and service quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.
- Contribute to standardization of cargo operational practices across the network.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure alignment of operational procedures.
- Coordinate with Ground Services and operational teams on procedural implementation.
- Provide technical guidance and operational expertise on assigned subject areas.
- Support departmental projects and strategic operational initiatives.
Documentation & Technical Writing
- Prepare professional operational manuals, process documentation, and procedural updates.
- Maintain document version control and revision history.
- Ensure all operational documents follow corporate documentation standards.
- Act as the departmental subject matter expert for assigned operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cargo operations, aviation operations, or technical documentation.
- Experience developing business workflow processes and operational documentation.
- Experience creating, reviewing, or implementing operational policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of air cargo warehouse operations.
- Experience in freighter operations is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
