Job Description/Specification:


North Oil Company (NOC) is seeking an experienced Offshore Team Leader (OTL) to serve as the second-in-command of an offshore installation within the Al Shaheen Field. Reporting directly to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM), the OTL is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of offshore production operations while maintaining asset integrity, leading emergency response activities, and ensuring compliance with HSE and operational excellence standards.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for experienced offshore professionals with extensive Oil & Gas production operations expertise, strong emergency management capabilities, and proven leadership in high-risk offshore environments.


About This Role

As the Offshore Team Leader, you will oversee daily offshore operations, coordinate production and maintenance activities, manage operational risks, and support the Offshore Installation Manager in achieving production targets while maintaining the highest standards of process safety and operational integrity.

You will also act as the Deputy On-Scene Commander during emergencies, providing leadership during crisis situations and ensuring the safety of personnel, protection of the environment, and preservation of critical offshore assets.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production Management

  • Support the Offshore Installation Manager in managing daily offshore operations.
  • Coordinate production, maintenance, inspection, campaign, and project activities.
  • Ensure safe and efficient delivery of production targets while maintaining asset integrity.
  • Optimize oil production and water injection performance.
  • Coordinate Field Support Team deployment to meet operational priorities.
  • Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements to reduce operational risks.

Health, Safety & Emergency Response

  • Act as the Deputy On-Scene Commander during offshore emergencies.
  • Serve as the deputy HSE Site Authority to ensure personnel, environmental, and asset protection.
  • Lead emergency response activities including oil spill response.
  • Chair daily Permit to Work meetings to ensure safe execution of work.
  • Participate in internal HSE audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE standards, process safety procedures, and legislative requirements.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary offshore teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Coach and develop operational personnel to improve competencies.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and innovation across offshore operations.

Asset Integrity & Risk Management

  • Participate in the development and review of operational risk assessments.
  • Ensure operational risks are reduced to ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable).
  • Support implementation of company operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with inspection, maintenance, and integrity management programs.
  • Drive cost-conscious operations while maintaining safety and production objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of Oil & Gas production operations experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in offshore production operations.
  • Minimum 5 years of emergency or crisis management experience.
  • Strong understanding of offshore production systems and process safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literacy with standard operational software.
