Job Description/Specification:
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced BMS / LMV / DCP Operator to monitor, operate, and optimize Building Management Systems (BMS), Local Monitoring & Visualization (LMV), and Distributed Control Panels (DCP) for HVAC and utility systems. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of chilled water plants, HVAC equipment, and automated control systems while maintaining compliance with operational and safety standards.
About This Role
As a BMS / LMV / DCP Operator, you will monitor building automation systems, analyze operational data, respond to alarms, and coordinate with maintenance teams to maximize equipment performance and energy efficiency. This position requires experience in industrial facilities such as oil & gas plants, refineries, district cooling plants, or similar environments.
Key Responsibilities
Building Management System Operations
- Monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS), LMV, and DCP platforms.
- Supervise chilled water production plants, HVAC systems, and utility equipment.
- Monitor alarms, system trends, operating parameters, and equipment performance.
- Verify plant operating conditions and equipment status through control systems.
Plant Operations & Monitoring
- Operate HVAC plants and associated utility systems safely and efficiently.
- Identify equipment faults, abnormal operating conditions, and system failures.
- Escalate maintenance issues and coordinate with technical teams for timely resolution.
- Support plant startup, shutdown, and emergency operating procedures.
Maintenance Support
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and instrumentation teams during maintenance activities.
- Provide operational feedback and historical system data to support preventive maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections and verify equipment readiness.
- Assist in troubleshooting plant control systems and operational issues.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and shift records.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
- Prepare incident reports and document corrective actions.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and reporting tools for communication and documentation.
Safety & Compliance
- Operate safety interlocks, shutdown systems, and emergency controls according to approved procedures.
- Ensure compliance with client operating procedures, safety standards, and company policies.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and initiate corrective actions.
- Promote safe working practices and operational reliability.
Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (12 years of education).
- Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Preferred age: 25–30 years.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or instrumentation plant operations.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Refineries, District Cooling Plants, or similar industrial facilities is preferred.
