Job Description/Specification:
Quartermaster, a U.S.-based maritime technology company, is seeking an experienced Regional Business Development Lead to drive business expansion across the Arabian Gulf. The company provides advanced maritime safety and connectivity solutions that generate real-time situational awareness data for commercial vessels.
Reporting directly to leadership in the United States, the successful candidate will lead commercial growth across the GCC by securing fleet-scale agreements, managing regional operations, and supporting regulatory approvals to accelerate market expansion.
About This Role
As the Regional Business Development Lead, you will serve as Quartermaster's senior representative across the Gulf region. You will develop relationships with vessel owners, operators, maritime authorities, and strategic partners while overseeing the successful execution of installations, logistics, and regional operations.
The role requires extensive travel throughout the GCC and strong expertise in commercial negotiations, maritime regulations, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and secure fleet-scale agreements with commercial vessel owners and operators across the GCC.
- Build long-term relationships with key maritime industry stakeholders.
- Lead the complete sales cycle from prospecting and negotiations through contract execution.
- Drive regional business growth by expanding Quartermaster's presence across multiple Gulf markets.
Regional Operations
- Oversee end-to-end regional operations, including equipment installations and deployment activities.
- Coordinate logistics, field teams, contractors, and local business partners.
- Ensure efficient execution of operational plans across multiple GCC countries.
- Monitor project delivery while maintaining quality, timelines, and customer satisfaction.
Regulatory & Government Engagement
- Support engagement with maritime authorities and port regulators throughout the GCC.
- Assist in obtaining regulatory approvals required for vessel installations.
- Address regulatory concerns and facilitate compliance with local maritime requirements.
- Build productive relationships with government agencies and regulatory stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Represent Quartermaster with commercial customers, industry partners, and government authorities.
- Collaborate closely with U.S.-based leadership on regional strategy and market development.
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Based in the GCC and willing to travel extensively across the Arabian Gulf.
- Proven senior-level experience within the Gulf maritime industry.
- Established relationships with commercial vessel owners and operators across multiple GCC countries.
- Strong track record of negotiating and closing commercial agreements.
- Working knowledge of maritime regulations and approval processes across the Gulf region.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional language skills such as Urdu, Hindi, Tagalog, or Farsi.
- Existing relationships with maritime regulatory authorities across the GCC.
- Experience managing vessel regulatory approvals and compliance processes.
- Active involvement with regional maritime organizations or shipowners' associations.
