Job Description/Specification:
St. Regis Doha is seeking a service-oriented Recreation Attendant to support recreational activities and facilities at its luxury property in West Bay, Doha.
The Recreation Attendant will assist guests with information, bookings and participation in activities across facilities such as the swimming pool, entertainment/game areas, fitness center and children's activity areas. The role focuses on guest safety, recreation operations, facility cleanliness and creating an enjoyable luxury hospitality experience.
About This Role
As a Recreation Attendant, you will serve as an important point of contact for guests using the hotel's leisure and recreation facilities. You will explain available activities, encourage guest participation, monitor facilities for safety and provide assistance during activities and events.
The position requires strong guest service skills, safety awareness and the ability to remain attentive in a busy hotel recreation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Recreation Activities
- Welcome guests and provide information about available recreation facilities, programs and activities.
- Encourage, register and schedule guests for appropriate recreational activities.
- Help create a fun, welcoming and relaxing environment.
- Assist with group activities, events and private functions held within recreation facilities.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide courteous and professional assistance.
- Assist guests with disabilities in accordance with hotel service standards.
Recreation Facility Operations
- Support operations across pools, fitness areas, entertainment zones, game rooms and children's activity facilities as assigned.
- Explain and enforce recreation facility rules and safety requirements.
- Monitor activities and identify situations where guests may not be able to participate safely.
- Clean and maintain recreation areas, equipment and supplies.
- Inspect recreation equipment and report defects or maintenance concerns.
Safety & Emergency Response
- Continuously observe recreation areas to help maintain a safe environment.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies according to established operating procedures.
- Provide initial assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
- Report accidents, injuries, hazards and unsafe working conditions immediately.
- Follow hotel health, safety, security and emergency procedures.
- Maintain required CPR and First Aid certifications.
Payments & Administration
- Process payments for recreation activities, equipment rentals, facility rentals and applicable retail sales.
- Operate computer and Point of Sale (POS) systems accurately.
- Answer telephone enquiries using professional hotel etiquette.
- Maintain appropriate activity and operational information as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Previous related work experience is not required.
- Hospitality, recreation, fitness, leisure or customer service experience would be an advantage.
- No supervisory experience is required.
Required Certifications
Candidates should hold or be able to meet applicable requirements for:
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Recreation equipment certification/training where applicable
- Any additional certification or training required by relevant local authorities
