Job Description/Specification:
An opportunity is available in Doha for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Nutanix AHV-based infrastructure, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), cloud migration, and hybrid cloud operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Nutanix implementation and administration, server workload migrations, disaster recovery, capacity planning, automation, and maintaining stable infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Nutanix Infrastructure
- Implement, administer, and maintain Nutanix AHV and HCI environments.
- Manage Nutanix infrastructure through Prism Element and Prism Central.
- Support Nutanix Self Service environments and infrastructure operations.
- Monitor platform health, performance, utilization, and availability.
- Perform infrastructure capacity planning and optimization.
Server & Cloud Migration
- Plan and execute server workload migrations using lift-and-shift and parallel-build strategies.
- Support infrastructure and cloud migration projects while minimizing operational disruption.
- Coordinate migration planning, testing, validation, and production transition activities.
- Apply standardized migration procedures and automation wherever possible.
- Support Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) and hybrid cloud environments.
Disaster Recovery & Resilience
- Design and support resilient Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Ensure recovery solutions meet defined Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements.
- Participate in DR testing and validate infrastructure recovery capabilities.
- Identify infrastructure risks and recommend improvements to availability and resilience.
Automation & Operations
- Develop scripts and standardized automation for infrastructure migrations and routine operational activities.
- Support efficient administration through repeatable and controlled processes.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, virtualization, migration, and performance issues.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
IT Service Management
- Support hybrid cloud infrastructure using established ITIL practices.
- Participate in change, incident, and problem management processes.
- Ensure infrastructure changes are properly planned, documented, tested, and implemented.
- Work with technical teams to maintain stable and reliable production services.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV and HCI.
- Experience with Prism Element and Prism Central.
- Practical experience with Nutanix implementation and administration.
- Experience performing enterprise server and infrastructure migrations.
- Knowledge of Nutanix Cloud Platform and NC2.
- Experience with Disaster Recovery and RPO/RTO requirements.
- Understanding of capacity planning and infrastructure performance management.
- Experience with scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments and ITIL-based operations.
