Job Description/Specification:
Parsons is seeking an experienced Works Inspector – Roads to support major road and infrastructure projects in Qatar. The role is responsible for inspecting daily construction activities, monitoring workmanship and materials, and ensuring road works comply with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable construction standards.
The ideal candidate will have extensive inspection experience across highways, urban roads, interchanges, drainage, paving, and associated infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
Road Works Inspection
- Inspect daily road construction activities for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor grading, earthworks, paving, drainage systems, road signage, and related infrastructure works.
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure required quality standards are achieved.
- Identify construction defects, non-conformities, and potential project delays.
- Recommend corrective actions and follow up until issues are properly resolved.
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and completed construction activities.
- Prepare daily inspection, quality control, and site progress reports.
- Verify that construction activities comply with applicable codes and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with testing and commissioning activities before project handover.
- Ensure inspection documentation is properly maintained for project records.
Site Coordination & Safety
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and construction teams to support smooth execution.
- Monitor construction progress and report significant delays or site issues.
- Ensure contractors follow approved health and safety procedures.
- Monitor delivery and availability of materials required for road construction.
- Support project teams in resolving technical and construction-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction inspection.
- Strong experience with large-scale roads, highways, urban roads, and interchange projects.
- Good knowledge of road construction standards, specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Previous experience within the Middle East or GCC is highly desirable.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inspection/reporting systems.
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of road construction and quality inspection procedures.
- Ability to review construction works for accuracy and compliance.
- Familiarity with international standards and local construction requirements.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and civil engineering software is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple inspection activities and work effectively under pressure.
