Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Fashion Designer to manage fashion design projects from initial concept through final production. The role requires strong knowledge of current fashion trends, garment construction, fabrics, prints, embroidery, and production processes.
The successful candidate will work closely with design, merchandising, procurement, marketing, and production teams to create collections that reflect the brand’s creative vision and market positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Fashion Design & Concept Development
- Develop innovative concepts for seasonal and ongoing fashion collections.
- Create sketches, technical drawings, mood boards, color stories, and prototypes.
- Translate creative concepts into commercially viable garment designs.
- Ensure designs remain consistent with the brand's identity and target market.
Trend Research & Development
- Research global fashion trends, competitor collections, fabrics, colors, and consumer preferences.
- Use trend forecasting to identify emerging styles and potential opportunities.
- Incorporate relevant trends while maintaining the brand’s individual design direction.
Fabric & Garment Development
- Select suitable fabrics, trims, embellishments, and other materials.
- Apply strong knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, fit, and finishing.
- Coordinate with pattern makers and production teams throughout product development.
- Review samples and recommend adjustments before final production.
Print & Embroidery Design
- Develop seamless, placement, panel, and other fashion prints using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Create embroidery motifs using different embellishments, materials, and techniques.
- Provide clear design guidance to in-house embroiderers, artisans, and production teams.
Team Collaboration & Quality
- Guide designers through the creative and product-development process.
- Coordinate with merchandising, marketing, procurement, and production departments.
- Review samples and prototypes to ensure design specifications and quality standards are achieved.
- Identify production or design issues and coordinate appropriate improvements.
Presentation & Communication
- Present collections and design concepts to the Creative Director, management, and clients.
- Clearly communicate technical and creative requirements to production teams.
- Support the development of presentations and visual materials for new collections.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum 3 years of professional Fashion Designer experience.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, pattern making, garment construction, and production.
- Proven experience in print and embroidery development.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends and product development.
- Candidates based in Doha, Qatar are preferred.
