Job Description/Specification:
DHL Global Forwarding Qatar, part of the DHL Group, is seeking a customer-focused Transportation Specialist to support freight forwarding and logistics operations. This role is responsible for managing customer relationships, coordinating shipments, monitoring transportation activities, resolving customer inquiries, and ensuring shipments are delivered efficiently from quotation through final billing.
The ideal candidate will have experience in freight forwarding or logistics, strong customer service skills, and the ability to collaborate with operations, sales, and overseas offices to deliver outstanding transportation solutions.
About This Role
As a Transportation Specialist, you will serve as the primary contact for assigned customers, providing shipment updates, handling inquiries and complaints, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met. You will also support business growth through cross-selling opportunities and continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
🚚 Transportation & Shipment Coordination
- Manage customer shipments from quotation to delivery and final billing.
- Monitor shipment status and provide proactive updates on exceptions and delays.
- Coordinate with operations, overseas offices, and service providers to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Support customer implementation, spot quotations, and contract follow-up.
🤝 Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers.
- Handle shipment inquiries, tracking requests, and customer complaints.
- Resolve customer issues promptly or escalate them to the appropriate teams.
- Participate in customer meetings and joint sales visits when required.
📊 Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor service performance and customer satisfaction.
- Review and distribute shipment and performance reports.
- Support complaint management through GCCS and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Sales, Pricing, and Operations to enhance service quality and customer experience.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Transportation, or Customer Service is preferred.
- Knowledge of air freight, ocean freight, road freight, and freight forwarding operations is an advantage.
