Job Description/Specification:
A leading company in Qatar is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst / GIS Specialist to support environmental, engineering, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing GIS databases, conducting spatial analysis, producing accurate maps, and integrating geospatial data with engineering drawings to support project planning and execution.
This role is ideal for GIS professionals with experience in ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, GPS data processing, and spatial data management, particularly within environmental consulting, infrastructure, or Oil & Gas projects.
About This Role
As a GIS Analyst / GIS Specialist, you will develop and maintain geospatial databases, perform spatial analysis, prepare mapping products, and provide technical GIS support to multidisciplinary project teams. You will also integrate AutoCAD drawings with GIS datasets to support engineering and environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities
🗺️ GIS & Spatial Analysis
- Develop, maintain, and manage GIS databases and geodatabases.
- Perform spatial analysis to support environmental, engineering, and infrastructure projects.
- Produce high-quality maps, layouts, and geospatial visualizations.
- Process GPS and survey data for project use.
📐 Data Management & Engineering Support
- Integrate AutoCAD drawings with GIS datasets.
- Manage coordinate systems, projections, and spatial data accuracy.
- Update and maintain geospatial records and project databases.
- Support engineering teams with mapping and geospatial information.
🤝 Project Coordination
- Collaborate with environmental, engineering, and project teams.
- Prepare GIS reports, maps, and technical documentation.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
- Provide technical support for GIS-related project activities.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in GIS and spatial data analysis.
- Experience in environmental consulting, infrastructure, or Oil & Gas projects is preferred.
- Applicants must be locally available in Qatar.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and/or QGIS.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience with coordinate systems, projections, geodatabases, and spatial data management.
- Experience processing GPS and survey data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
