Job Description/Specification:
A leading Oil & Gas / LNG company in Qatar is seeking an experienced Lifting Specialist (LEEA Certified) to support lifting operations across major industrial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all lifting activities are planned, executed, and monitored safely while complying with client specifications, international lifting standards, and HSE requirements.
This role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or Heavy Industrial projects and a strong background in lifting operations, lifting equipment inspections, and lifting safety management.
About This Role
The Lifting Specialist will provide technical expertise for lifting operations, verify lifting equipment compliance, support lifting plans, conduct inspections, and ensure all lifting activities are carried out safely and efficiently. The role requires close coordination with project teams, contractors, crane operators, and HSE personnel.
Key Responsibilities
🏗️ Lifting Operations
- Plan, supervise, and monitor lifting operations in accordance with approved lifting procedures.
- Review and verify lifting plans, risk assessments, and lifting studies.
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with project specifications and international standards.
- Provide technical guidance for routine and critical lifting operations.
🔧 Equipment Inspection & Compliance
- Inspect lifting equipment, accessories, and lifting gear for compliance and certification.
- Verify lifting equipment is fit for purpose before use.
- Maintain lifting equipment inspection records and certification documentation.
- Coordinate third-party inspections and certification where required.
🤝 Coordination & Safety
- Work closely with construction, operations, HSE, and lifting teams.
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe lifting practices.
- Investigate lifting incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with client HSE requirements and lifting regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
Certifications
- Valid LEEA Certification (Mandatory)
- Appointed Person or Lifting Supervisor Certification (Preferred)
- Third-Party Lifting Equipment Inspection Certification (Advantage)
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in lifting operations.
- Proven experience within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or Heavy Industrial Projects.
- Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, lifting accessories, inspection requirements, and lifting safety procedures.
