Job Description/Specification:
The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, part of Marriott International, is seeking an experienced Director of Rooms to lead the hotel’s Rooms Division. This senior management role is responsible for Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, guest satisfaction, employee performance, departmental revenue, and cost control.
The successful candidate will develop and implement Rooms strategies that align with The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards, Marriott brand objectives, and the hotel’s financial goals. The role requires strong leadership, luxury hospitality experience, commercial awareness, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
About This Role
The Director of Rooms serves as the strategic leader of the property’s Rooms department. You will oversee daily operations, guide department managers, improve service quality, manage financial performance, and ensure all Rooms areas consistently meet brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
🏨 Rooms Division Leadership
- Lead Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, and related Rooms operations.
- Develop departmental strategies aligned with the hotel’s business objectives.
- Communicate clear service, financial, and operational goals.
- Ensure consistent implementation of Ritz-Carlton and Marriott standards.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout guest areas.
🌟 Guest Experience
- Champion The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and service quality.
- Respond to complaints and lead service recovery efforts.
- Review guest feedback and implement corrective action.
- Ensure guest preferences and special requests are properly managed.
- Promote continuous improvement across all Rooms functions.
📈 Revenue & Profitability
- Monitor Rooms revenue, occupancy, rates, payroll, and expenses.
- Review departmental performance against budget.
- Work with Revenue Management to optimize occupancy and room rates.
- Control wages, overtime, and other operating expenses.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and productivity.
- Support room promotions, upgrades, and revenue-generating initiatives.
👥 Team Management
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop Rooms Division employees.
- Set performance objectives and conduct appraisals.
- Hold department leaders accountable for results.
- Encourage regular communication through meetings and briefings.
- Promote employee engagement, fairness, and teamwork.
- Identify high-potential employees and support succession planning.
🛡️ Standards & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, LSOPs, safety procedures, and brand requirements.
- Maintain guest privacy, security, and confidentiality.
- Support audits, inspections, and quality assessments.
- Ensure departmental policies are applied fairly and consistently.
- Implement regional and brand initiatives across the Rooms department.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Two-year degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field, with at least four years of relevant experience.
OR
- Four-year bachelor’s degree in a related field, with at least two years of relevant experience.
Previous leadership experience in Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Rooms Division, or luxury hotel operations is strongly preferred.

- Strong Rooms Division and luxury hospitality knowledge.
- Experience managing Front Office and Housekeeping teams.
- Good financial, budgeting, and payroll management skills.
