Job Description/Specification:
Amentum is seeking an experienced and mission-focused Munitions Operations Supervisor to oversee munitions accountability, inventory management, and operational supervision in support of U.S. Air Force operations. This leadership role is responsible for managing munitions activities, ensuring compliance with USAF technical orders, Department of Defense regulations, explosives safety standards, and contractual performance requirements while maintaining operational readiness in a dynamic military environment.
The successful candidate will lead the Munitions Operations team, supervise accountability processes, manage the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS), coordinate warehouse operations, oversee documentation and inventory accuracy, and ensure all munitions activities comply with AFMAN, DAFMAN, Technical Orders, and ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) standards. This position is ideal for experienced military munitions professionals seeking a leadership role supporting defense operations.
About This Role
The Munitions Operations Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising daily munitions operations, inventory accountability, warehouse management, documentation control, transportation coordination, and personnel development. You will ensure mission readiness by maintaining accurate accountability records, leading inspection and storage activities, supporting logistics operations, and enforcing the highest standards of explosives safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
💣 Munitions Operations Management
- Supervise daily munitions operations in accordance with USAF regulations and contractual requirements.
- Lead and manage the Munitions Operations Element for the assigned DoDAAC.
- Ensure accurate accountability of all munitions assets and historical records.
- Coordinate operational activities to maintain mission readiness and inventory integrity.
- Support peacetime and contingency operations as required.
📦 Inventory Control & Accountability
- Manage munitions accountability using the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS).
- Conduct warehouse inventories and reconcile stock records.
- Maintain auditable accountability documentation and historical records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor requisitions and inventory movements to ensure stock accuracy.
📋 Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with AFMAN 21-200, DAFMAN 21-201, TO 11A-1-10, and other applicable technical publications.
- Process, maintain, and archive accountable documentation.
- Monitor documentation accuracy for audits and inspections.
- Support internal quality assurance initiatives and ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Maintain compliance with contractual Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.
🛡️ Explosives Safety & Security
- Enforce USAF explosives safety, AFOSH, and host nation safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with physical security and ammunition storage standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safe operating procedures.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and contingency operations.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
🚚 Logistics & Transportation Coordination
- Coordinate munitions shipments with freight and logistics providers.
- Monitor shipment schedules and departure status.
- Manage Asset Discrepancy Report (ADR) processes and corrective actions.
- Monitor Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) and required components.
- Coordinate storage, maintenance, inspection, and transportation activities.
👥 Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and mentor Munitions Operations personnel.
- Conduct training on TICMS and operational procedures.
- Monitor employee competency and compliance with operational standards.
- Coordinate with the Munitions Accountability Manager (MAM), Munitions Superintendent, MASO, and other stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Military technical training in Munitions Management, Ammunition Operations, Logistics, or related disciplines is highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of Military Munitions experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Munitions Operations or an equivalent military role.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in Munitions Operations.
- Minimum 1 year of custody account or document control experience.
- Minimum 1 year of combined experience in munitions inspection, storage, and maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous USAF Munitions Accountable Systems Officer (MASO) experience.
- Previous USAF MAJCOM Staff experience.
- CCAF Degree in Munitions Management or a related field.
- Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense or coalition military operations.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid home country driver's license.
- Ability to obtain a host nation driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
