Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Cashier to join our retail team in Doha, Qatar. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing customer purchases, handling cash and electronic payments, maintaining accurate transaction records, supporting inventory activities, and ensuring the checkout area remains clean, organized, and welcoming. You will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting the smooth daily operations of the store.
About This Role
The Cashier serves as the primary point of contact for customers during the checkout process, ensuring every transaction is completed efficiently, accurately, and professionally. You will assist customers with inquiries, process various payment methods, maintain cash drawer accuracy, and support store presentation and inventory management to create an exceptional shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
💳 Cash Handling & Payment Processing
- Process cash, credit card, debit card, and other payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system while ensuring all sales are recorded correctly.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer balances throughout each shift.
- Reconcile cash discrepancies and report variances promptly.
- Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, and payment confirmations according to company procedures.
🌟 Customer Service & Guest Experience
- Welcome customers warmly and provide a friendly, professional shopping experience.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, and promotions.
- Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Build positive relationships with customers through excellent communication and service.

🛍️ Retail Operations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current promotions, discounts, and store policies.
- Assist customers in locating products and answering general store inquiries.

- Ensure smooth and efficient checkout operations during busy trading periods.
- Assist with opening and closing cashier procedures when required.
📦 Inventory & Store Support
- Participate in regular inventory counts and stock verification.
- Help maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
- Assist with restocking merchandise and organizing shelves.
- Ensure products are displayed neatly with accurate pricing and signage.
- Support merchandise replenishment during quieter business periods.
🧹 Store Presentation & Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
- Keep shelves, displays, and customer areas clean and well presented.
- Replace missing or damaged price tags as required.
- Ensure promotional displays remain attractive and properly stocked.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and inviting shopping environment.

- Follow company cash handling procedures and internal controls.
- Adhere to store safety, security, and loss prevention policies.
- Protect customer information and maintain transaction confidentiality.
- Comply with company operational policies and retail procedures.
- Perform additional duties assigned by store management.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Cashier, Retail Assistant, Customer Service Representative, or in a similar retail role is preferred.
- Experience in supermarkets, convenience stores, retail outlets, fashion stores, or shopping malls is an advantage.
