Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Logistics Officer to oversee end-to-end logistics operations, inventory management, and supply chain coordination. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in warehousing, freight coordination, customs clearance, inventory control, and ERP systems who are passionate about ensuring the efficient movement of goods while maintaining exceptional operational standards.
As a Logistics Officer, you will manage inbound and outbound logistics activities, coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouse teams, and customers, while ensuring timely deliveries, inventory accuracy, and compliance with company procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing supply chain performance, improving turnaround times, and supporting seamless business operations.
About This Role
The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, monitoring inventory levels, managing warehouse stock movements, verifying shipping documentation, and ensuring timely order fulfillment. You will collaborate closely with planning, finance, warehouse, customer service, and external logistics partners to maintain efficient logistics operations and deliver outstanding customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
📦 Inbound Logistics & Warehouse Operations
- Coordinate the receipt of merchandise and verify inbound shipments against purchase orders.
- Monitor warehouse receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate inventory updates.
- Inspect incoming goods and report damaged, missing, or non-conforming items.
- Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders to resolve inbound shipment issues.
- Process purchase transactions and submit freight forwarder invoices to the Finance team.
🚚 Outbound Logistics & Distribution
- Manage outbound logistics activities for customer orders.
- Coordinate shipment preparation, packaging, and dispatch.
- Arrange domestic and international transportation with approved logistics providers.
- Monitor shipment turnaround times (TAT) and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Track shipments from dispatch through final delivery and provide regular customer updates.
🌍 Freight & Customs Coordination
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and customs authorities.
- Verify shipping documents for imports, exports, and ownership transfers.
- Ensure customs documentation complies with local and international trade regulations.
- Resolve customs clearance issues to minimize delays.
- Maintain effective communication with logistics partners to improve delivery efficiency.
📊 Inventory Management & ERP Administration
- Monitor inventory levels and stock movements through the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP.
- Perform inventory transactions accurately and on time.
- Conduct monthly stock audits and investigate inventory variances.
- Maintain accurate inventory records across ERP and CRM systems.
- Support inventory optimization and stock accuracy initiatives.
🤝 Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Planning, Warehouse, Service, Finance, Credit, and Customer Service teams.
- Coordinate customer order fulfillment and invoicing processes.
- Ensure seamless communication between internal departments and external logistics partners.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations.
- Assist with resolving operational and customer delivery issues.
📋 Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logistics documentation.
- Verify commercial invoices, packing lists, delivery notes, and customs documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, import/export regulations, and quality standards.
- Prepare logistics reports and operational performance summaries.
- Maintain organized digital and physical logistics records for audit purposes.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, freight forwarding, or inventory management.
- Previous experience within distribution, manufacturing, retail, FMCG, engineering, healthcare, or trading industries is preferred.
