Baker Hughes, a global leader in energy technology and industrial innovation, is seeking a motivated Services Professional – Commissioning to join its commissioning and field services team. This opportunity is ideal for Electrical or Mechanical Engineers who are passionate about commissioning, testing, validation, and performance optimization of industrial equipment, facilities, and energy systems.
As a Services Professional – Commissioning, you will play a key role in ensuring that equipment and plant systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and validated in accordance with engineering specifications and operational requirements. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will support performance testing, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the energy and industrial sectors.
About This Role
The Services Professional – Commissioning is responsible for supporting commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle, including equipment testing, system validation, performance verification, and operational readiness. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
⚙️ Commissioning & System Validation
- Execute commissioning activities for equipment, facilities, and industrial plants.
- Perform testing and validation to ensure systems meet design objectives and operational specifications.
- Support equipment start-up, functional testing, and operational readiness activities.
- Verify system performance prior to client handover.
- Assist in resolving technical issues encountered during commissioning.
🔬 Performance Testing & Technical Support
- Conduct performance testing and evaluate equipment efficiency.
- Monitor operational parameters and validate system functionality.
- Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Support troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Assist engineering teams in optimizing equipment performance.
🤝 Project Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, technicians, and field service teams.
- Coordinate commissioning activities in line with project schedules.
- Support communication with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Participate in project meetings and technical discussions.
- Ensure commissioning activities align with project requirements and contractual obligations.
📋 Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and technical documentation.
- Record inspection findings, test results, and performance data accurately.
- Maintain project documentation in accordance with company quality standards.
- Support project close-out documentation and client handover activities.
- Ensure all commissioning records are audit-ready.
🛡️ Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Follow Baker Hughes HSE policies and industry safety standards.
- Ensure commissioning activities comply with project specifications and quality requirements.
- Promote safe working practices during testing and commissioning.
- Identify and report safety risks or technical concerns promptly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution.
🌍 Customer Support
- Provide technical assistance to customers during commissioning activities.
- Support predefined customer contracts and service agreements.
- Deliver professional communication throughout project execution.
- Build positive working relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction through quality service delivery.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commissioning, field services, testing, maintenance, or industrial engineering.
- Experience in energy, industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, or power generation sectors is preferred.
- Previous exposure to equipment commissioning and performance testing is advantageous.
