Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Hostess to join our Dine-In Restaurant team. As the first point of contact for guests, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every customer enjoys an exceptional dining experience from the moment they arrive until they leave.

About This Role
The Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and waiting lists, coordinating table assignments with the restaurant team, and ensuring smooth guest flow during service. You will work closely with servers, supervisors, and restaurant management to provide outstanding hospitality and maximize guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
🌟 Guest Reception & Hospitality
- Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude.
- Create a positive first impression by delivering exceptional customer service.
- Escort guests to their assigned tables and present menus.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
- Ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued throughout their visit.
📅 Reservations & Seating Management
- Manage restaurant reservations, walk-in guests, and waiting lists efficiently.
- Coordinate table assignments based on availability and guest preferences.
- Monitor table turnover to maximize seating capacity.
- Maintain accurate reservation records and guest information.
- Communicate waiting times clearly and professionally.
📞 Customer Communication
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously.
- Respond to guest inquiries regarding reservations, restaurant services, operating hours, and special requests.
- Coordinate booking confirmations and reservation updates.
- Assist guests with special seating requests whenever possible.
- Maintain effective communication with guests before and during their visit.
🤝 Restaurant Coordination
- Work closely with servers, supervisors, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth dining operations.
- Coordinate table readiness with the service team.
- Inform staff of VIP guests, special occasions, or customer preferences.
- Support efficient guest flow during busy service periods.
- Assist colleagues whenever operational support is required.
🧹 Reception & Restaurant Standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Ensure menus, promotional materials, and reception supplies are well presented.
- Follow restaurant grooming, hygiene, and appearance standards.
- Comply with health, safety, and company policies.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional restaurant environment.
💬 Guest Satisfaction & Service Recovery
- Handle guest concerns politely and professionally.
- Resolve minor service issues promptly.
- Escalate complex complaints to supervisors or restaurant management.
- Gather guest feedback to support continuous service improvement.
- Help create memorable dining experiences that encourage repeat visits.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field is an advantage.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Hostess, Receptionist, Guest Service Agent, Front Desk Associate, or in a customer-facing hospitality role is preferred.
- Experience in restaurants, cafés, hotels, or fine dining establishments is highly desirable.
- Fresh candidates with excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude may also be considered.
