We are seeking a skilled and passionate Landscape/Horticulture Engineer to join a growing landscaping and garden solutions company in Qatar. As a Landscape/Horticulture Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, executing, and maintaining landscaping projects, including gardens, irrigation systems, and vertical green walls. You will lead project teams, coordinate with clients, oversee site activities, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest quality standards while meeting project timelines and budgets.
About This Role
The Landscape/Horticulture Engineer will manage the complete lifecycle of landscape projects—from concept design and cost estimation to execution, maintenance, and client handover. The role requires strong technical knowledge of horticulture, plant health, irrigation systems, and landscape construction, along with excellent leadership and client relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities
🌿 Landscape Design & Planning
- Develop creative and functional landscape designs for residential, commercial, and public spaces.
- Prepare technical drawings using AutoCAD and other landscape design software.
- Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, project budgets, and work schedules.
- Select suitable plants, trees, shrubs, turf, and landscape materials based on project requirements.
- Coordinate material procurement and supplier selection to support project execution.
🌱 Horticulture & Plant Health Management
- Supervise the installation and maintenance of gardens, lawns, indoor plants, and vertical gardens.
- Monitor plant health and implement appropriate fertilization, pruning, pest control, and disease management programs.
- Recommend suitable horticultural practices to improve landscape quality and sustainability.
- Ensure proper care of ornamental plants, trees, and green spaces.
- Maintain high standards of horticultural excellence across all projects.
💧 Irrigation Systems & Landscape Maintenance
- Plan, install, inspect, and maintain irrigation systems to ensure efficient water management.
- Monitor irrigation performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Ensure landscaping maintenance activities are completed according to established schedules.
- Identify maintenance requirements and implement preventive landscape care programs.
- Promote sustainable irrigation and landscape management practices.
🏗️ Site Management & Client Coordination
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor project progress and quality.
- Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical advice.
- Ensure landscape works comply with project specifications and quality standards.
- Perform quality audits and resolve site-related issues promptly.
- Prepare progress reports and communicate project updates to clients and management.
👥 Team Leadership & Project Execution
- Lead and supervise landscaping teams, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Prepare work schedules and allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor workforce productivity and project timelines.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
- Promote a collaborative and safety-focused working environment.
📋 Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare technical proposals and project documentation for new business opportunities.
- Develop project reports, maintenance records, and inspection reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to project execution and client approvals.
- Support tender preparation and project planning activities.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping in accordance with company standards.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in landscape engineering, horticulture, landscaping, or garden maintenance.
- Experience managing residential, commercial, or industrial landscape projects is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of irrigation systems and plant maintenance is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of landscape construction, irrigation systems, and horticultural practices.
- Excellent project planning and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Valid Qatar or GCC driving licence is preferred.
