Job Description/Specification:
InterContinental Doha is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Attendant to join its luxury hospitality team. This role is responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards across guest rooms, suites, and public areas while delivering memorable guest experiences in line with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) luxury service standards.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment while ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction.
About This Role
As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will clean and maintain guest rooms, replenish amenities, respond to guest requests, support deep cleaning activities, report maintenance issues, and ensure all assigned areas consistently meet IHG's luxury quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
🏨 Guest Room Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms, suites, and public areas according to hotel standards.
- Make beds, change linens, dust furniture, vacuum floors, and sanitize bathrooms.
- Clean room amenities including refrigerators, coffee makers, cups, glasses, and kitchenettes where applicable.
- Ensure guest rooms are clean, organized, and ready for occupancy.
- Perform evening turndown service when assigned.
✨ Quality Assurance & Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional housekeeping standards that enhance guest satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, special instructions, and service needs.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and ensure timely resolution.
- Notify supervisors immediately when room servicing is completed or if rooms cannot be serviced.
- Maintain luxury presentation standards throughout assigned work areas.
🧺 Housekeeping Operations
- Monitor and replenish guest supplies, linens, towels, and room amenities.
- Minimize waste while ensuring sufficient housekeeping supplies are available.
- Support scheduled deep cleaning projects and preventive housekeeping activities.
- Follow hotel housekeeping procedures and operational guidelines at all times.
🛠️ Maintenance & Safety
- Report maintenance issues, equipment faults, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Follow hotel health, hygiene, and safety procedures.
- Ensure housekeeping equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping carts, storage areas, and workspaces.
🔑 Lost & Found & Compliance
- Record, report, and submit all lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures.
- Comply with hotel policies, housekeeping SOPs, and quality standards.
- Protect guest privacy and confidentiality during all housekeeping duties.
- Support hotel sustainability initiatives by minimizing waste and conserving resources.
🤝 Teamwork & Communication
- Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other hotel departments.
- Communicate room status updates and operational issues effectively.
- Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Demonstrate IHG's core values by delivering exceptional hospitality and service excellence.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Hospitality or Hotel Management qualifications are an advantage.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Housekeeping Attendant, Room Attendant, or similar role in a luxury hotel is preferred.
- Experience in five-star hotels or international hospitality brands is an advantage.
