Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Valet / Sorter to provide exceptional guest laundry and valet services while supporting the efficient operation of the hotel's laundry department. This role is responsible for collecting, sorting, processing, and delivering guest laundry with accuracy, professionalism, and care, ensuring the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining hotel standards for cleanliness, garment care, and service excellence.
About This Role
As a Laundry Valet / Sorter, you will manage guest laundry collection and delivery, inspect garments, support laundry operations, maintain accurate records, assist with sorting and processing, and ensure all services are delivered within the hotel's quality standards and promised turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
👔 Guest Laundry & Valet Services
- Collect guest laundry and dry-cleaning bags from guest rooms promptly and professionally.
- Verify completed laundry lists, including guest name, room number, item count, and special instructions.
- Count and inspect garments before processing to ensure accuracy.
- Record laundry collection and delivery times, including guest requests and Do Not Disturb (DND) status.
- Deliver guest laundry accurately and within the promised turnaround time.
- Arrange hanging garments neatly in wardrobes and present folded items according to hotel standards.
- Coordinate outsourced laundry and dry-cleaning services when required.
🧺 Laundry Operations
- Sort guest laundry, uniforms, and linens according to fabric type, color, and care requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading washing machines and dryers.
- Support the Laundry Marker in identifying, tagging, and recording garments.
- Follow proper laundry handling procedures to prevent garment damage.
- Maintain quality standards throughout the laundry process.
🔍 Garment Inspection & Quality Control
- Inspect garments for stains, damage, missing buttons, tears, or other defects before processing.
- Report discrepancies and garment conditions to the designated supervisor.
- Ensure guest clothing is handled with the highest level of care and professionalism.
- Verify completed laundry before delivery to ensure quality standards are met.
📦 Inventory & Housekeeping Support
- Assist with linen and uniform inventory management.
- Participate in scheduled stock counts and inventory verification.
- Organize laundry storage areas and maintain proper stock levels.
- Support departmental housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
🛡️ Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within laundry and valet work areas.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Comply with hotel policies, standard operating procedures, and departmental guidelines.
- Follow environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Report lost-and-found valuables immediately according to hotel procedures.

- Deliver exceptional guest service in accordance with the hotel's service culture.
- Communicate professionally with guests and colleagues.
- Support team members during busy operational periods.

Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in Laundry, Housekeeping, Valet Services, or Hospitality is an advantage.
- Experience in hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, or commercial laundry operations is preferred.
