Job Description/Specification:
Hilton is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Attendant (Public Area Cleaner) to join its Housekeeping team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of guest rooms and public areas while delivering exceptional hospitality that enhances every guest's stay.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cleanliness, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding guest service in a fast-paced hotel environment.
About This Role
As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will clean and prepare guest rooms, maintain public areas, replenish amenities, support laundry and housekeeping operations, and ensure hotel cleanliness standards are consistently maintained while creating a welcoming environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities
🛏️ Guest Room Cleaning
- Enter and prepare guest rooms for daily cleaning and servicing.
- Dust furniture, clean bathrooms, bedrooms, and closets to hotel standards.
- Vacuum carpets, clean floors, and ensure rooms are spotless before guest occupancy.
- Replenish guest amenities, toiletries, linens, and supplies.
- Inspect rooms to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
🏨 Public Area Maintenance
- Maintain the cleanliness of hotel public areas, corridors, and common spaces.
- Perform routine and deep-cleaning tasks, including steam cleaning carpets and seasonal cleaning activities.
- Ensure public facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming throughout the day.
- Report maintenance issues or damaged equipment to the appropriate department.
🎒 Guest Service
- Deliver and retrieve guest loan items promptly and professionally.
- Respond courteously to guest requests and special requirements.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service.
- Maintain positive guest interactions and contribute to an exceptional hospitality experience.
🧺 Housekeeping Operations
- Support housekeeping and laundry operations as required.
- Follow daily cleaning schedules and assigned work plans.
- Ensure guest rooms are properly secured after cleaning.
- Assist with linen handling and housekeeping support duties when needed.
🛡️ Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow hotel housekeeping procedures and hygiene standards.
- Maintain guest privacy and ensure the security of guest rooms.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
- Comply with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Report hazards, lost and found items, or maintenance concerns immediately.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Vocational training in Housekeeping or Hospitality is an advantage.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Housekeeping Attendant, Room Attendant, Public Area Cleaner, or a similar role in a hotel is preferred.
- Experience in luxury or international hotel brands is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures and cleaning standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and lift housekeeping equipment.
