Job Description/Specification:
La Cigale Hotel Managed by Accor, a prestigious five-star luxury hotel in Doha, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join its Housekeeping team. This role is responsible for sorting, handling, processing, and preparing hotel linen and laundry while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency in accordance with Accor's luxury hospitality standards.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in hotel laundry or housekeeping operations, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality linen management.
About This Role
As a Laundry Attendant, you will sort and process soiled linen, prepare clean linen for distribution, support laundry operations, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and assist the Housekeeping team in delivering exceptional service to hotel guests.
Key Responsibilities
🧺 Laundry Operations
- Sort guest room and Food & Beverage linen according to hotel procedures.
- Prepare linen containers, label them accurately, and organize them for collection and distribution.
- Fold, roll, and organize clean towels, bathrobes, and linen for delivery.
- Support washing and drying operations when required.
- Ensure proper handling of linen to maintain quality and longevity.
📦 Linen Management
- Count and record soiled and clean linen accurately.
- Separate damaged or misused linen for inspection and reporting.
- Maintain adequate linen stock for daily hotel operations.
- Assist with linen storage and inventory organization.
🧼 Housekeeping Standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic laundry work area.
- Follow housekeeping procedures and hotel cleanliness standards.
- Ensure laundry equipment and workstations remain clean after each shift.
- Support housekeeping operations whenever required.
🛡️ Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow health, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and masks when required.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely according to established procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards immediately.
- Dispose of waste materials in accordance with hotel policies.
🤝 Team Support
- Assist colleagues with laundry and linen operations during busy periods.
- Participate in departmental training and development programs.
- Communicate operational issues to the Laundry Supervisor promptly.
- Support other housekeeping duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training in Housekeeping, Laundry Operations, or Hospitality is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in hotel laundry, housekeeping, or a similar role.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of laundry operations, linen handling, and housekeeping procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
