Job Description/Specification:
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Platinion is seeking an experienced Principal IT/Digital – Energy Practice to lead complex digital transformation and technology consulting engagements for clients across the Energy sector, including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and related industries. This senior leadership role combines strategic consulting, enterprise technology expertise, and executive stakeholder management to deliver high-impact digital transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with C-level executives to define IT strategies, design future-ready digital architectures, lead multidisciplinary consulting teams, and deliver scalable technology solutions that create measurable business value.
About This Role
As a Principal IT/Digital, you will lead enterprise technology transformation programs, advise senior executives on digital strategy, oversee solution delivery, mentor consulting teams, and strengthen BCG Platinion's leadership in technology, cloud, AI, and digital transformation within the Energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
💡 Digital & IT Strategy
- Advise executive leadership on enterprise IT and digital transformation strategies.
- Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Design scalable digital operating models and technology architectures.
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance through digital innovation.
🏗️ Enterprise Architecture & Technology Transformation
- Lead enterprise architecture and digital platform modernization initiatives.
- Design cloud-enabled, data-driven, and AI-powered technology solutions.
- Support large-scale application modernization and system implementation programs.
- Drive technology transformation from strategy through execution.
⚡ Energy Industry Consulting
- Deliver strategic consulting engagements for Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and Energy clients.
- Analyze business and operational challenges to develop innovative technology solutions.
- Support digitalization initiatives across upstream, midstream, downstream, and corporate operations.
- Advise clients on emerging technologies shaping the Energy sector.
👥 Leadership & Client Management
- Lead multidisciplinary consulting teams across complex client engagements.
- Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and technology leaders.
- Manage project quality, risks, budgets, and client expectations.
- Mentor consultants and foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and innovation.
📊 Business Development & Practice Leadership
- Contribute to the growth of BCG Platinion's Energy Practice.
- Support proposal development and client presentations.
- Represent BCG Platinion as a thought leader in digital transformation and emerging technologies.
- Share knowledge and develop best practices across consulting teams.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- An MBA or Master's degree is highly desirable.
- Outstanding academic record.
Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in IT consulting, technology strategy, or digital transformation.
- Proven experience leading enterprise technology transformation programs.
- Experience serving Energy sector clients, including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success leading consulting engagements and managing executive stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in enterprise architecture and cloud technologies.
- Strong knowledge of data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading high-performing consulting teams.
- Fluent English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
