Job Description/Specification:
SOSi (SOS International LLC) is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support critical facility operations at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, renovations, and general building maintenance across residential and commercial facilities while ensuring compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong multi-trade maintenance skills, including plumbing, carpentry, locksmithing, and general construction maintenance, with the ability to work independently in a secure government environment.
About This Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will maintain and repair government facilities, troubleshoot plumbing and structural systems, perform preventive maintenance, inspect completed work, and support facility operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Building Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on government facilities.
- Repair and renovate interior and exterior building structures.
- Install, replace, and repair doors, ceilings, flooring, cabinets, and fixtures.
- Maintain roofing components, windows, and exterior drainage systems.
🚰 Plumbing & Utility Systems
- Troubleshoot plumbing systems and perform minor plumbing repairs.
- Repair leaking faucets, clogged fixtures, water supply, sewage, and wastewater systems.
- Inspect piping systems for functionality and safety.
- Maintain backup plumbing assets and support preventive maintenance programs.
🛠️ Carpentry & General Trades
- Perform carpentry, drywall, plaster, locksmith, and light metal fabrication work.
- Carry out minor welding and sheet metal repairs when required.
- Install or repair furniture, furnishings, equipment, and appliances.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
📋 Inspection & Compliance
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors, maintenance teams, and civil engineering personnel.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report repair requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or vocational certification in Building Maintenance, Carpentry, Plumbing, Facilities Management, or a related trade is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or construction trades.
- Experience maintaining residential and commercial facilities.
- Experience in government, military, or defense environments is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, locksmithing, and general maintenance.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of welding and sheet metal fabrication.
