Job Description/Specification:
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is seeking a creative and analytical Learning Design Specialist / Senior Specialist to join BCG U, the firm's global learning and capability-building function. This role is responsible for designing innovative learning experiences, developing digital and instructor-led training programs, and collaborating with consultants, subject matter experts, and leadership to build scalable learning solutions that drive business transformation.
The ideal candidate will combine expertise in instructional design, adult learning, digital learning technologies, and consulting to create engaging, learner-centric experiences that improve knowledge retention and on-the-job performance.
About This Role
As a Learning Design Specialist / Senior Specialist, you will design and enhance learning programs, develop engaging digital content, manage instructional design projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful capability-building solutions for global clients.
Key Responsibilities
📚 Learning Design & Curriculum Development
- Design and enhance learning programs aligned with business objectives.
- Develop learner-centric curricula, assessments, and capability-building solutions.
- Create engaging learning journeys using adult learning and behavioral science principles.
- Maintain and continuously improve existing learning content.
💻 Digital Learning & Content Development
- Develop Instructor-Led Training (ILT), Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT), Web-Based Training (WBT), and micro-learning modules.
- Design interactive learning experiences including simulations, videos, infographics, and role plays.
- Utilize e-learning authoring tools and multimedia technologies to create engaging content.
- Leverage generative AI tools to enhance learning design and content creation.
🤝 Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with consultants, subject matter experts (SMEs), and vendors to co-create learning solutions.
- Collaborate with BCG leadership and client teams to identify learning needs.
- Support facilitator enablement through high-quality training materials and guides.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
📊 Project & Quality Management
- Manage end-to-end instructional design projects from analysis through delivery.
- Conduct quality reviews of learning products and ensure consistency across programs.
- Monitor project timelines, stakeholder expectations, and deliverables.
- Support continuous improvement through feedback analysis and content updates.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
Experience
- 4–6 years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Learning & Development, or Corporate Training.
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or multinational organizations is highly preferred.
- Experience working with global and cross-functional teams.
