Job Description/Specification:
The Ned Doha is seeking an experienced and inspiring Executive Housekeeper to lead its Housekeeping department and ensure exceptional cleanliness, comfort, and luxury service throughout the hotel. Located in Doha's iconic former Ministry of Interior building, The Ned Doha offers a unique luxury hospitality experience, and this leadership role is essential in maintaining the highest operational and guest service standards.
The successful candidate will oversee housekeeping operations across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities while leading, developing, and motivating the housekeeping team. This role requires a strong understanding of luxury hospitality, Forbes Travel Guide standards, operational excellence, and continuous quality improvement.
About This Role
As the Executive Housekeeper, you will manage all housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction. You will oversee departmental planning, workforce management, inventory control, budgeting, quality assurance, and team development while collaborating closely with other hotel departments to deliver an exceptional luxury guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations
- Lead the daily housekeeping operations across guest rooms, suites, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Ensure all areas consistently meet luxury hospitality and Forbes Travel Guide standards.
- Develop and maintain housekeeping procedures, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards are achieved.
- Monitor room readiness to support efficient guest arrivals and departures.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service.
- Plan staffing schedules and allocate resources to meet operational demands.
- Monitor employee performance and conduct regular coaching and performance evaluations.
- Drive employee engagement, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team culture.
Quality Assurance & Guest Experience
- Maintain exceptional guest satisfaction through consistent housekeeping excellence.
- Ensure prompt resolution of housekeeping-related guest requests and service recovery situations.
- Monitor service quality through regular inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the hotel's luxury brand standards and guest experience objectives.
Inventory, Budget & Cost Control
- Manage housekeeping inventory, linen, guest amenities, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
- Oversee departmental budgets and control operating expenses while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate purchasing requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs without compromising service quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Security, and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Coordinate room maintenance requirements with the Engineering team.
- Support hotel-wide operational initiatives and guest service improvement projects.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience in a senior housekeeping leadership role within a luxury hotel.
- Experience managing housekeeping operations in internationally recognized luxury hospitality brands.
- Demonstrated experience leading large housekeeping teams and managing departmental budgets.
- Experience implementing luxury hospitality quality standards and operational excellence programs.
