Mandarin Oriental Doha is seeking a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused Hostess to join its Food & Beverage team. This role is responsible for creating exceptional first impressions by managing restaurant reservations, welcoming guests, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable dining experience at IZU and IZU Bistro.

The successful candidate will oversee reservation management, guest reception, table coordination, and communication with restaurant operations while maintaining the legendary service standards of Mandarin Oriental. Working closely with restaurant managers, chefs, servers, and housekeeping teams, you will help deliver luxury hospitality experiences that exceed guest expectations.

About This Role

As a Hostess, you will manage restaurant reservations, coordinate guest seating, maintain guest preference records, and provide personalized service from arrival until departure. You will support daily restaurant operations, promote menu offerings, assist with guest requests, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure smooth service and outstanding customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Reception & Hospitality

  • Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their assigned tables.
  • Deliver exceptional first impressions through professional and personalized service.
  • Manage guest waiting lists and communicate estimated waiting times.
  • Provide alternative dining options when reservations are unavailable.
  • Create memorable guest experiences that reflect Mandarin Oriental's luxury hospitality standards.
  • Thank guests upon departure and ensure a positive final impression.

Reservation Management

  • Manage restaurant reservations received by telephone, email, online booking platforms, and walk-in guests.
  • Maintain an accurate reservation database and update guest preferences.
  • Coordinate seating plans and table allocations with restaurant management.
  • Monitor table availability and maximize seating efficiency throughout service.
  • Reconfirm reservations and communicate booking updates to guests.

Restaurant Operations

  • Maintain accurate menus and ensure they are clean, current, and professionally presented.
  • Recommend beverages and menu offerings in accordance with service standards.
  • Support billing and cashiering procedures when required.
  • Assist restaurant operations during busy service periods.
  • Support both IZU and IZU Bistro operations based on business requirements.

Guest Relations

  • Build positive relationships with guests through attentive and personalized service.
  • Record guest preferences, dietary requirements, allergies, and special occasions.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Create personalized "WOW" moments that enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain guest confidentiality and protect personal information.

Team Collaboration & Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with restaurant managers, service staff, kitchen teams, and housekeeping.
  • Share important guest information, including allergies and special requests.
  • Maintain excellent grooming, hygiene, and professional appearance standards.
  • Comply with all hotel policies, health and safety procedures, sustainability initiatives, and service standards.
  • Support colleagues and assist with operational duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Hostess, Restaurant Receptionist, Guest Relations Agent, or Front-of-House professional in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant is preferred.
  • Experience within luxury hospitality or international hotel brands is an advantage.
