The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is seeking an experienced and student-focused Career Services Specialist to support the delivery of comprehensive career development programs for students and graduates. This role plays a vital part in preparing students for successful careers by providing professional career guidance, organizing employability initiatives, and strengthening connections between the University and employers.

The successful candidate will work closely with students, faculty, employers, and internal stakeholders to deliver career counselling, facilitate work placements, coordinate career events, and enhance student employability. About This Role

As a Career Services Specialist, you will provide career advising, employment support, and career development services while assisting in the planning and delivery of career programs, student employment initiatives, work-integrated learning opportunities, and employer engagement activities. You will also maintain career resources, employer databases, and support continuous improvement through data collection and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Career Advising & Student Support

  • Provide individual career guidance and career counselling to students and graduates.
  • Review resumes, cover letters, and job applications to improve employability.
  • Coach students on job search strategies, interview preparation, and career planning.
  • Conduct career assessments to help students identify suitable career pathways.
  • Support students in achieving their career development goals through personalized guidance.

Career Programs & Events

  • Assist in planning and delivering career development programs and initiatives.
  • Support the organization of the University's annual career fair, employer events, workshops, and networking activities.
  • Coordinate activities that enhance student employability and workplace readiness.
  • Promote career services and encourage student participation in career development opportunities.

Student Employment & Work Placements

  • Support student employment programs and ensure all administrative processes are completed efficiently.
  • Assist students in securing and successfully completing work-term placements and internships.
  • Coordinate with employers and academic departments to facilitate employment opportunities.
  • Monitor placement activities and ensure program requirements are achieved.

Employer Relations & Administration

  • Maintain and update employer databases with accurate contact information.
  • Support employer engagement activities to expand employment opportunities for students.
  • Document career services policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Ensure career services records and documentation remain accurate and up to date.

Data Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Collect, maintain, and analyze data related to career services programs and initiatives.
  • Prepare reports that support data-driven improvements to career development services.
  • Develop career resources, guides, tip sheets, and online materials for students.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance student outcomes and service delivery.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, Career Development, Counselling, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in career advising, student counselling, career development, higher education, recruitment, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting students with career planning and employment readiness.
  • Experience organizing career events, workshops, or employer engagement activities is preferred.

  • Experience building relationships with employers and internal stakeholders.
